Jane Goodall has left this world — but what a legacy of gentleness, patience, and fierce respect for life she gave us. Few people have ever changed how humanity sees another species as profoundly as she did with her decades among the chimpanzees of Gombe.
She showed us that animals are not “less than,” but other nations of beings — with intelligence, emotions, and dignity of their own. She reminded us that real science doesn’t need to be cold or detached; it can be full of love.
Her voice, her presence, her work with the Jane Goodall Institute, and her tireless advocacy for animals and the Earth will resonate far beyond her years.
Rest in peace, Jane. You made the world more awake, more tender, more humane.
