A Major Fan

(A Micro-Case Study in Unintentional Comedy)

1–2 minutes
Exhibit A: love letter from a fan.
Devotion takes many forms

Someone who probably knows me to some greater or lesser degree spent their morning visiting my blog repeatedly to call me names today, as you can see for yourself in my screenshots above and below.

Not once — twice.

Within hours.

I was amused.

Engagement is engagement.

I even renamed them “A Major Fan”, because accuracy matters —

and anyone who keeps returning to read and reread my work clearly qualifies.

There’s a special kind of devotion in hate that loops back into admiration.

Some people call it trolling.

I call it free publicity.

If they come back for Round Three, I may have to send them a thank-you note. 🙂🙃

You can see the entire exchange in the comment section of my previous blog post titled THE AKATHISIA FILES: PT 2.

Exhibit B: Once was not enough. My fan needed to invent a new word — “mastabatory” — for my benefit to poison the dart. My friends, it misfired, as I am genuinely delighted by this nonsense.
😄🎯

Let me know what you think!
